According to the Oxford Dictionary, the word “portfolio” means a collection of different items kept together. In investing, a portfolio refers to the collection of financial assets owned by an investor.
A portfolio can include mutual funds, stocks, bonds, government securities, gold, ETFs, and other investments.

For example, if an investor owns mutual funds, stocks, bonds, and government securities, all these investments together are called an investment portfolio.
